Membership types, age groups and household coverage

Fees depend on whether the centre is classed as small, medium, large or major. Monthly paid-in-full and roll-over options have the same listed rate within each class. Yearly memberships are paid in full. The tables show the city’s 2026/27 prices before HST; do not compare them with tax-included pool prices.

Youth rates apply through age 18. Adult rates apply from 19 to 59 and senior rates from 60. A valid student ID gives 25 per cent off monthly or yearly fitness memberships. A household is one adult, or two cohabiting adults, plus children under 19 who live at the same address.

The 75 per cent day-pass discount pilot

An active membership at a participating facility lets you buy a matching day pass at another participating facility for 75 per cent off its regular rate. Eligible memberships are annual paid-in-full or active monthly, biweekly or roll-over memberships. The discount follows your membership type, such as adult, senior or family.

Go to the other facility’s front desk and provide your name or membership information. The pilot includes the centres on the city page plus Canada Games Centre, Zatzman Sportsplex, Cole Harbour Place and St. Margaret’s Centre. It is a discounted day pass, not unlimited access at every centre. Council approved the pilot January 27, 2026, with a report expected in late 2027.

Equipment, pool passes and free options

Findlay, Gordon R. Snow, Chocolate Lake, Musquodoboit Harbour and Sheet Harbour offer different mixes of cardio and strength equipment. Captain William Spry and Sackville Sports Stadium also list pool options. At Captain Spry, a facility pass covers pool and fitness access, a pool pass covers Aquafit and lane swimming, and an open-swim pass covers open swims and parent-and-tot sessions.

The city lists free fitness-equipment use at Musquodoboit Valley Recreation Office and North Preston Community Centre. Their hours are separate from the paid membership centres. Check the location sections for seasonal or split opening periods.

Younger members and practical checks

Findlay and Gordon R. Snow specifically require members aged 14 and 15 to attend with a parent or guardian. Do not assume that requirement or an age cutoff is identical at every centre. Ask the chosen centre about orientation, supervision and the equipment you plan to use.

Facility hours do not guarantee a particular class or lane is available. Use the centre’s current program timetable for scheduled activities, and ask whether a pass includes the activity before paying.
