Free admission and swim bracelets
Open swims and lane swimming are free and first come, first served. No advance booking is required for these swims. In July and August, coloured bracelets for individual swim times can be picked up from 10 a.m. One person can collect no more than five bracelets for one designated session.
Everyone leaves the pool at the end of a swim so the next group can enter. A bracelet system is not an all-day reservation. Lessons and aquatic sports, such as water polo or swim team, charge fees and use program registration. Call 902-490-6666 for registration help.

Pool features and accessible equipment
The pool has five 25-metre lanes, three climbing walls, a beach-style entry and play features. Universal change rooms include individual, family and accessible cubicles. Day-use lockers are available, but bring your own lock and remove it before leaving. Staff cut remaining locks at day’s end.
The facility lists lifejackets, a pool lift, an aquatic wheelchair and a person lift. Users must supply their own sling for the person lift. Speak with staff about the equipment and assistance you need before your swim.

Common Pool’s specific guardian rules
The Common Pool page requires a guardian aged 18 or older. Children seven and under must stay within arm’s reach, with no more than three children per adult. Children aged eight to 11 need an adult guardian at the facility in case of an emergency. Youth aged 12 to 17 can attend alone but cannot supervise children 11 and under.
These are the Common Pool page’s rules. The broader municipal swimming page uses a different guardian age. This guide follows the specific facility page and flags that difference for confirmation before a family visit.

Pool rules, weather and seasonal schedules
Shower before entering. Diving, full-face or scuba masks, food and drink, running and rough play are not permitted. Staff enforce facility rules. The city says the pool stays open in ordinary weather, with exceptions for thunder, lightning or extreme conditions.
The published 2026 schedules have several seasonal blocks and some apparent time-entry errors. Those past timetable rows are not presented as a current schedule here. The stated annual operating season ended September 15. Call the front desk at 902-490-1302 for facility questions and check the next season’s timetable when published.
