Year-round parks and special hours

The municipal list has 12 year-round off-leash destinations. The usual park hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Connrose Park is different: its off-leash hours are 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. Follow the boundaries and signs at each site. An off-leash listing does not make the whole park off-leash.

At Shubie Park, dogs must remain inside the off-leash area near Sunrise Beach. The city reports complaints about dogs entering nearby private property. Use this area only when your dog reliably returns when called.

How seasonal field access works

Summer-use sports fields are available June 1 through November 1. Winter-use fields are available November 1 through May 1. These are different lists. The same park name can appear in both lists because a park and its playing field are different spaces.

Do not use playing fields in wet weather. Keep dogs leashed when adults or children are playing on the field. Larry O’Connell has a special summer off-leash window of 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. These permissions do not override a field closure or posted restriction.

Choose the correct area before arriving

Match the destination, season and hours below. The address is the city’s location reference, not a promise of a dedicated dog-park gate or accessible route. Multiple diamonds at one site remain named together where the source does so.

Review the city’s linked off-leash rules and the signs at the entrance. The underlying municipal park rules, animal bylaw and off-leash administrative order are linked on the official page.
