Original job description

ABOUT YOU

You are currently enrolled in the CPA program and have experience in public accounting. As you continue

building your career, you are looking for work that feels meaningful, a supportive team to learn alongside,

and opportunities to make a valued contribution.

You are looking for a CPA-approved learning office where you can keep building your skills alongside

knowledgeable CPAs and other CPA students. You feel you would thrive in a firm that prides itself on

providing a supportive, low-stress learning environment in a small, friendly office of twenty other

professionals.

You want your work to be valued and your contribution to be recognized. Here, you will build on your

existing experience through a varied mix of compilations, review engagements, corporate and personal tax

work, and other opportunities that strengthen your skills, with some involvement in not-for-profit audit

work as well. As your knowledge and confidence grow, so will the scope of your responsibilities and the

impact you can make.

ABOUT US

We are a thriving public accounting and consulting practice located in Bedford, Nova Scotia, with more than 15 years of experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals with complex accounting and taxation needs. Our broad client base gives you the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, gain exposure to varied work, and see the difference your contribution makes.

Our practice has grown through referrals from satisfied clients and trusted professionals who value the

quality of our work, our people, and our culture. We are fortunate to have a very enjoyable client-base

whose quality we attribute to our referral-based growth – we believe people tend to refer other people

they like and respect to their own accountant.

Our office dog, Gigi - a non-shedding Havanese mix - also does her part to keep the workday entertaining

and make the office feel welcoming.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in the CPA program
Experience in a public accounting firm
University degree, with a major in accounting
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
A desire for continuous learning

Qualifications / Experience:

Proficiency with Microsoft office programs including Word and Excel expected
Experience in the use of Caseware would be considered an asset

Other benefits:

Offers paid overtime or extra time off in-lieu – your preference
Reduced summer hours at full-time pay
Offers a flexible daily start time to accommodate your lifestyle, family or other priorities
Provides a matching RRSP plan
Contributes to the medical / dental plan
Provides four weeks paid vacation including the week between December 24th and New Year’s Day

Please apply if this opportunity sounds like a great fit for you!
