Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Hairstylist role based in the Greater Halifax Metropolitan Area. The Hairstylist will provide a full range of hair services, including cutting, styling, blowouts, and basic hair treatments according to client preferences and salon standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients, recommending suitable styles and products, performing hair care services safely and hygienically, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. The role also involves managing appointment times, handling basic client inquiries, and contributing to a positive, inclusive salon atmosphere. The Hairstylist will collaborate with the salon team to support client satisfaction and repeat business.
Qualifications
- Strong Hair Styling and Hair Care skills, with the ability to work with diverse hair types and styles.
- Foundational knowledge or training in Cosmetology, including safe use of tools, products, and hygiene standards.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on client comfort, satisfaction, and retention.
- Clear, professional Communication skills for effective consultations and teamwork.
- Relevant certification or licensure in hairstyling or cosmetology, as required by local regulations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and manage multiple appointments efficiently.
- Willingness to learn new techniques, attend training, and stay updated on style and product trends.
- Prior salon or hairstyling experience is preferred but candidates with strong foundational skills will be considered.
