Finance Systems Administrator
Department: Accounting & Finance
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Halifax
Reporting To: Paula Kenneson
Compensation: CA$72,000 - CA$105,000 / year
Description
The Finance Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support and integration of the finance systems used predominantly by the US business. Based in Halifax, the role owns user and configuration administration for Sage Intacct and Ramp, supports Planful integrations, troubleshoots system and transaction issues, and coordinates with Finance, IT, vendors and business users to secure effective resolution. The postholder will distinguish system or setup issues from accounting and coding matters, directing finance questions to the appropriate Finance owner.
Key Responsibilities
-
Sage Intacct administration: Manage users, security access, dimensions and other agreed system configuration, maintaining accurate records and appropriate controls.
-
Sage Intacct support: Help users determine whether transaction difficulties arise from system configuration, setup or another technical issue; troubleshoot and resolve issues within scope.
-
Accounting issue escalation: Identify matters requiring accounting judgement or correction and refer them to the appropriate Controller or Finance team member for review and resolution.
-
Sage Intacct integrations: Monitor and troubleshoot integrations with Sage Intacct, coordinating with internal teams and external providers where required.
-
Ramp administration: Manage users, access and approval workflows, ensuring configuration remains aligned with agreed finance processes and controls.
-
Ramp deployment support: Support approved solution deployments with relevant business and vendor teams, including planning, testing, implementation and post-launch support.
-
Ramp-to-Sage enablement: Develop practical knowledge of the synchronisation process between Ramp and Sage Intacct, maintain guidance and train nominated users.
-
Finance and coding queries: Route questions concerning accounting treatment, coding or finance policy to the appropriate Controller or Finance team member rather than providing accounting advice.
-
Planful integrations: Work with Finance, technology teams and system owners to develop, test and maintain integrations between Planful and connected platforms, including Sage Intacct and Great Plains
-
Integration change coordination: Translate approved dimension and data requirements into system changes, confirm ownership, track dependencies and escalate unresolved decisions or resourcing constraints.
-
Scope management: Ensure partnership with Coupa administrators, specifically regarding integration between Sage Intacct and Coupa. Direct Coupa requests to the designated Coupa owner, as Coupa administration and support are outside this role’s scope.
-
Documentation and controls: Maintain configuration records, support procedures, training materials, change logs and evidence required for access reviews and audit.
