Position Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Local Delivery Driver to support our delivery team. Truck would be local pick up 2500-3500 series with box refer. Clean driving record with Class 5 required
Key Responsibilities
- Morning truck checks
- Maintain a clean vehicle
- Delivery of products to local restaurants, institutions and grocery.
Other duties to help support the inside team
When time allows you would support the inside team with
- Pick fresh, frozen and dry goods and prepare them for delivery
- Prepare boxes and materials for shipping orders.
- Pack seafood items as required for shipping
- Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and safely
- Operate pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified or trained)
- Follow all safety and handling procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience in local delivery an asset or strong knowledge of local routes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- A strong understanding of the Halifax regional Municipality geography.
Hours: 38 – 45 hours per week, depending on the time of year.
Salary: $ 18.00 per hour, depending on experience to start.
